Visiting a GP & bulk billing

  • Hi, I'd like to make an appointment with a GP, please.

A GP (General Practitioner) is your family doctor. See a GP first, not the hospital, for non-emergencies.

  • Do you bulk bill?

Bulk billing means Medicare pays the doctor directly, so you pay nothing.

  • Here's my Medicare card.

Always bring your Medicare card (green) to appointments.

  • I've had a sore throat and a fever for three days.

Say what the problem is and how long you've had it.
